I recently posted a question "Christianity in school...At a local public school, ppl are trying to replace the theory of evolution with intelligent design. Doesn't this violate the rights of other religions?" It has been erased. Maybe I'm not seeing what was wrong with this question. I'm not trying to be rude or anything. I'm just trying to figure out what I said that was improper so that I can avoid it in the future. Thank you for any help.

Don't be too worried about it. People will get mad about anything and report abuse on you. Just repost, and hope that you get through this time. I'm sure there's alot of reasonable people out there who would like to answer that question. Good luck, chica.

I don't see anything wrong with your question.

I personally think that neither evolution or intelligent design should be taught in schools. If the parents believe one way or the other, they should teach their children. Schools should start with the facts...the first known civilization and go from there. Or if they are going to teach both, don't teach it as fact, rather scientist feel that man evolved, religion and the bible teaches that man was created.

Right now, evolution is taught as fact. I believe in creation. I can remember being confused in elementary school thinking that Adam and Eve were cavemen. Not Neanderthal, but I thought when they spoke of early man, they were talking about Adam and Eve. It took me awhile to realize they were teaching something as fact that was totally different than what I believed.

That seems like a perfectly legitimate question to me!

If intelligent design talks about a particular faith's version of God being the creator of the universe, and I happened to be of another faith, I might take offense at a school board's trying to teach all children that their god and not mine created the universe. Some might see that as reason to have a holy war or something.

I don't see anything wrong with your question. Your question was not rude or anything. You should write to yahoo answers and get it back.

My theory is that you insulted a Christian. You have to be very careful around here on R&S. Christians are quick to hit the report abuse button even when you are not violating yahoo terms.

You asked a good question, but the problem here is that at
Answers any person can complain about any question and
if there are enough complaints it will be removed. Obviously
the Christians didn't like their "Intelligent Design" theory
being questioned. It happens.

Allow me to explain. You called into question the Christian ideaology - and thats a big no-no on this site. See, its run by fundies, who protect fundies and side with fundies. Thats why we get deleted for asking real questions, while the fundies can post derogatory comments about Islam and atheism without any recourse.

Welcome to America.

Hon, don't believe in the 'simpletons'. If I wanted you to hate Christians or if I had a devious agenda, all I'd have to do is pretend to be 'christian' and scorch you like that.

Anyone with an eighth grade education knows you'd soon HATE CHRISTIANS.

What you said that was improper was to question Christians beliefs in the first place. They no likey.

Seems a reasonable question to me!

Perhaps you didn't hit the right key on your computer -- it happens to me all the time.
