DONT NOT DISSOLVE aspirin on the tooth, it does not help and i have seen people who are stupid enough to do this and it is not a pretty site..
antibotics can take up to three days to start working properly
the only thing u can do is go back to the dentist and get them to open the nerve and kill the pain,
its the only way i am afaird
good luck

i'm going thru this with my b/f right now.... try an anti inflammatory such as ibuprofin. that will take some of the inflammation away.(infection{in this case} is swelling up tissue that is pressing on a nerve- hence pain!) so taking an anti-inflammatory will take some of the pressure off the nerve. also try to swish with warm salt water... this may help a little.... other that that, if it has not improved by friday..... another dentist appointment will be needed for some stronger antibiotics....

Do NOT apply heat. Apply a cold ice pack and try not to lie down flat. Lying down will only make it throb more. If your symptoms have not improved, you need to go back to the dentist. I sympathize with you, I have a root canal scheduled for next week and the pain is not something I would wish on my worst enemy. Luckily, the pain killers do work for me.

If it is an infected tooth put an aspirin directly on the tooth and let it dissolve there it will go directly to the nerve causing the pain I had a cracked molar and that was the only thing that would help me I also swished seltzer water the carbonation helps the pain
