Take the store Wal-Mart for example, when you shop in the baby/toddler section for clothing are the sizes 4T and 5T the same as the sizes XS, 4 and 5 in the "girls" section? If not, what is the difference?

My girls are almost ages 4 and 3 and are very tall!!! It's hard to find shirts long enough in the arm and torso when buying clothing in 4T in the baby/toddler section, I didn't know if it's time to jump to the "girls" sizes.

Thanks for your help! :)

I was in the same boat with my 4 year old, I finally decided to try 5 instead of 5T and they are a perfect fit. The T's are a lot shorter in the leg and arm. Good luck and happy shopping.

Sizes 4T and 5T will be smaller than regular 4's and 5's. For you tall kiddos I would try the girls section. My middle kid has short legs and at 5, can still wear some 5T's.

LOL my 8month old is so tall I get 4or5T for her and last time I was at walmart I finally jumped over to the girls section and found that most of the 4T's fit her also. So go for it when I was younger I ended up wearing boys pants sometimes because I was to tall for girls clothes:D

The sizes are different. The toddler sizes being smaller. You should probably move up to the girls sizes if they are tall and it is hard to find things to fit. I have one with a long back and short legs and have to adjust the sizes that way and another with long legs and a short back. It is hard to get two piece outfits to fit I always have to but separates.

"T" sizes are smaller. Size 4 in the big boy section is a lot bigger.XS is size 4 in the big boy section, a lot bigger than 4T, my youngest son takes a size 5 which is a small in Walmarts Big Boy section.

Elite, THAT`S A BIG BOY!!! I know how you feel, my son is seven and he almost has the same shoe size as me!!!!

T does mean toddler. My youngest daughter is small for exceptionally much 6 and remains donning a 4-5T. At age 3 except this baby is freakishly tall is in all risk donning a 3T or 4T fantastically if she is slender. My different daughter became extremely tall and skinny (nevertheless is) and became donning a 4T at 2 a million/2 and that became a sprint super on her. i don't comprehend the measurements precisely yet that would desire to be of a sprint help.

I don't know the equivalent sizes but it does sound like you need to move to the girls section. Take your kids in and have them try on clothes so you can figure out what size they need. After that you can shop for that size and everything will fit them.

I had the same situation with my youngest. She has a long torso and arms, so I had to jump up to the XS. She is only 5 now and has to wear the med (7/8) just to cover her midriff.

My kids are short and I bought a 4 for my son and the legs were about a foot too long! Toddlder size for short kids and regular sizes for taller ones.
