I personally do not think they are. First, they are usually made with soybean oil, which is usually so genetically modified it can no longer be considered a natural food (google "roundup ready soy) and they contain propellants, from chemicals. I use canola or olive oil which I spray from a bottle I purchased at a kitchen store, I think it is Miso brand

It is healthy if you stick to the serving size listed on the label. I can't remember, but it's either a 1/8 or 1/16 of a second spray. Now you tell me how you can grease an entire skillet, cake pan, etc. if you're holding the button down for 1/16 of one second. It can't be done. How many of us hold down the sprayer and get the pan REALLY well coated all over? Uh huh.

The way *most* people us it is wrong. We may as just grease the pan with Crisco, oil or butter.

I doubt PAM is healthy. Check the ingredients. I use Spectrum brand cooking sprays. It's just oil, soy lecithin and propellant (no chlorofluorocarbons).

Beebs - I like your idea better. I'm going to change over!

I'd have to say no but that is my opinion. The stuff from the spray can (or whatever it is from the sprays) will go into your lung when you breath in and that is not good for your breathing.
