I'm just curious how many DB my setup puts out. is there a program that I can download that would let me do that?..with using my mic n laptop?

if your just curious and dont want to spend a lot of money then go to walmart in the car audio section they sell a spl meter for $30 that will do.

Here's a more accurate way to adjust the gain control as you answered in another post.

You'll need Microsoft Excel, a multi-meter (AC voltmeter) and a way to burn an audio CD from an MP3 for the supplied test tone.

^^^^Like he said the termlab mics are very accurate. Look around or ask around to see if any local shops have one. Some let you use it for a fee. Please don't buy cheap meters. They dont work well and will just cost you extra money.
