Has anyone ever been on this cruise? How does it compare to other cruise lines like Royal Caribbean? I guess it appealed to us because it's "freestyle" which means we won't need to dress up for dinner and we can eat whenever we want. Also the NCL Pearl is new, built in 2007 which should be good. The port stops are Cozumel and Belize City. This will be my first cruise so any opinions would be greatly appreciated :)

Freestyle has become so much more popular then what many cruises offer, you will find not such a RUSH feeling and more time to enjoy...........

I've been on 2 cruises to the Caribbean via Carnival cruise lines and had a great time on both. Since Carnvial is considered to be a lesser-quality cruise line and I had a blast with them, I can only imagine the higher rated cruise lines would be that much more fun.

Cozumel is small and you can rent a car/jeep and drive the whole island in a couple of hours (the road just makes a big circle). There is a pretty coastline, a nature park/lighthouse at one end with things to see and do, all kinds of bars along the beach to stop and have a cocktail, some Mayan ruins, and some touristy shopping and activities. I've been to Cozumel twice...no stops in Belize though so don't know about it.

I love travelling on a ship and taking my "hotel" with me! ☺ Am planning a Mediterranean cruise in the Fall, but not sure which cruise line we'll use.

Enjoy!

Alright, I am a TA, and here is the scoop. NCL is in my opion the best cruise line out their. The "Freestyle Cruising" is great!! Also, it is owned, and operated by RCCI (Royal Caribbean), and has most of it's amenitys. However, if you have kids, and teens, I recomend RCCI, or Carnival. If you have both 15-18 year olds, Carnival is a must. RCCI is great for everything else. I was invited to the "engroul" (I know I spelled that wrong :) ), and it is a VERY NICE ship. If you are SCUBA certified, then it is a must in Belize. And if not, it is worth the $100 dollars to do beginer SCUBA, (a quick lesson, and a great time!) If you have any questions, please email me at tenrten10r10@yahoo.com .

Thanks, an Bon Voyage!

Cruises are so much fun!! It's the best way to travel......your cruise fare will include your cabin, all the food you can eat (except in the specialty restaurant) and entertainment. Excursions will be extra, if you choose to do them. Alcoholic Drinks will be extra........pop too. But you can purchase an all you can drink pop card for about $25, I think.

My family and I always have the best time on a cruise. We usually don't do the excursions, but we do visit the port cities and enjoy the sites on our own. The food is to die for. To make sure that you gain too much weight from the rich food, you can work out in the gym.......no additional cost. There are lots of activities on the ship during "At Sea" days and "At Port" days........ or you can just sit back and do nothing if you want. Book that cruise! You won't regret it.

I have been on 11 criuses, empcomassing all of the major cruise lines, and I am cruising agin this August. The simple fact is, it doesn't matter what boat or line you travel, it will be a fantasic vacation.

Think of the ship as a nice hotel that goes places; All the food you can eat; Constant entertainment; and the best part of all.....if you get to a port you don't like, don't worry, there'll be a diffrent on the next day.
