First, be yourself. Then when you approach her, don't say "hey hottie or A girl... that's not the way to do it. Approdach her by saying you look beautiful today or you smell good today. Something along those lines.

go up to her and be like i was thinking about asking this girl to go out with me for dinner and a movie (or whatever your plan is). but i'm not sure if she'll say yes, do you think she will?

you could approach her, and say something like 'hi....., you look lovely(or your hair looks lovely or something) would you do me the pleasure of accompanying me to.... tonight (or whenever you are gonna go out).
or you could slip a note in her bag or pocket saying would you do me the pleasure, or would you be so kind, as to come with me to.... tonight(etc) and then puts lots of love......(your name) and 3 kisses and your phone number!!
or you could come up behind her and put your arms around her waist casually and whisper in her ear if she would like to go out with you to ... (where you're gonna go) and when!!!! ( thats my fav)!!!!!:p
