What side do you suppose to pierce your nose on??

Im going to get my nose pierced to and i was wondering what side do you suppose to pierce it on-right or left??? or if theres no certain side, which ones the more popular choice??? Thanx a bunch!!!

I'm a female and ive had my nose pierced for 11 years on the left side. And everyone says thats the side to do it on, and in 11 years i havent heard otherwise so do the left side.

There is no meaning behind one side or the other in America. Some cultures used the piercing to show if a woman was married or had a certain quality. Its usually just you wanted one side done over the other. Some people go by which hand they use to write with is the side they pierce, other people will pick a side to balance an existing piercing or mark.

As far as which side is more popular, I'm not sure because I see a good amount of both and I myself have both nostrils pierced.

I got my nose pierced on a whim, put no thought into which side I wanted it done, asked the piercer and he said...

"Left. So when you're driving around in your car people can see it and be like 'Wow that's cute.'"

So I have it on the left.


There is no right or wrong side. It's a matter of personal preference. If you like your right side more, get it there. Left, go for it. There is no secret meaning behind the placement of a nose ring anymore. So go for what you want.

Well i have my pierced on the right hand side. Because when i was younger they said that a woman that pierces anything on the left hand side (nose, eyebrow etc.)is suppose to be gay. Today it doesn't matter. sh** most guys have both their ears pierced but decades ago only homo's did that so. Its up 2 u. What ever you think looks best & If any jackass has a derogatory comment about what u decide, tell them 2 bite u! Ha ha ha ha :)

I pierced mine on the right side at first but the person who pierced it did a horrible job and it stayed infected for a whole year. I eventually took it out and it left a little scar tissue so I got it pierced on the left side. I liked it better on the left side and the piercer did an awesome job. Personally I feel you should do what you feel. Its your nose! Hope this helped

I have my nose pierced on the left side just because I'm left handed, but personally it just depends on your dominant side and what you are comfortable with. So if you are trying to figure out what side to have pierced try throwing a ball and see what side is dominant. Or you can figure it out by what side you sleep on because I sleep on my right side so it helped afterwards because I'm not lying on that side and messing with it while I sleep by bumping it.

When I went to get my piercing, the guy put marker dots on each side of my nose and between the two of us, we decided which side it looked better on. Sometimes one of your nostrils curves different than the other one and then the piercing wont be as visible. They also informed me that there isn't any "rule" about what each side means. We decided LEFT. :O)

I don't think there is any set rule to it. I have my nose pierced on the left side b/c I think that's my best side. All of my friends have there's on the left side too but I don't think it matters

It's up to what you want. There are no meanings to the sides, it's just what you prefer. The split is about even, with slightly more people wanting the left side (in my experience). If you can't decide, get both sides done!
