Smitty, Bluedevil is right. Ketchel caught Johnson off guard and then Johnson started fighting harder. Bad decision by Ketchel.

Good question Smitty. Although Ketchel was a murderous puncher particularly at middleweight, he and Johnson prearranged before their 1910 fight for Johnson to carry Ketchel the length of the fight. In the 12th round Ketchel reneged on his word and sent Johnson crashing to the canvas. He thought he could finish Johnson who was more angry than hurt and as Ketchel moved in to finish Johnson he caught a right hand to the mouth knocking him completely out. After the fight, Johnson was seen picking some of Ketchel's teeth from his gloves.

Johnson was playing around with Ketchel and Stan caught Big Jack and put him down. Johnson angered got off the canvas and did indeed ice Ketchel, and yes Johnson was brushing Ketchel's embedded teeth off his glove as Stan slept on the canvas. It's a fact brother.

this is actually a good question but i think that johnson should of went for the ko alredy from the opening of bell. ketchel had time to recover because johnson did not applied pressure onto him. i think ketchel would have won the rematch. it will be of close in the scorecards this time.
