My sister believes the following is true.....

fat incubates in heat so if you eat lots of food before bedtime your body stores that fat away and doesn't burn it off. The electric blanket accelerates the fat incubation.

Could she be onto something?

An electric blanket has nothing to do with whether a person remains fat or not...

Depends how much they eat doesn't it????
I suppose the electric blanket would make the person sweat a bit so could lose a bit of weight that way!! They could go on a diet or cut thier portions of food down then they wouldn't be as fat and maybe wouldn't need an electric blanket lol

There is no way an electric blanket can stop a person being fat.

If intake (food) exceeds metabolic requirement, the surplus may be stored as fat.

Only by adjusting intake to actual requirement, can a person be prevented from staying fat.

I hope your question was not inferring that the heat from the electric blanket would melt fat (which it won't any way).

the body burns fat and uses up calories to keep warm if the body is already warm with using a hot blanket the body will not burn as many calories as it doesnt need to so the person will remain fat unless exercise is diet is controlled

That's just to funny! The person using the electric blanket isn't going to lose anything but the opportunity to exercise.

Has the person with the electric blanket changed his or her eating and exercising habits? If not, the person will remain fat as an elephant!

I don't think an electric blanket will help a person become less fat, there is no relation between the two.

What has an electric blanket got to do with being fat?

I would think it would have the opposite effect if it was turned on for high temperature. Because you would be sweating and that would cause you to lose fluids but that is water weight that can easily gained back. But if you do it every night you can eventually lose a lot of weight, this method is normally used by wrestlers who are trying to lose weight fast to either stay in their wight class or drop to the lower weight class. Though it's not a very health way to lose weight.
