he died for our sins, to absolve us.....then why are people asking him to help them with math tests and football games? why would you have ton pray before that, unless youre going to sin? its the christianity that we're seeing now, actually the Antichrists opposite church, what most of you quoite everytday....cause ive read the prophecies...and i see similarities to the two (antichrist and contempory religion) with the selfishness, asking for help with stupid things (god helps those who help themselves) and with the hate of the gays, the arabs, and everyone who isnt christian. before you tell others they need to check themselves, i think the christians who follow blindly need to really read and think.....cause ya'll might be part of the antichrists plan...
thoughts?
if you dont agree, id like to hear why! please, i actually want all opinions!

The contempary church, especially the cathloic church (I have the most experience with that one), dosen't seem to follow the teachings of Jesus at all. While I don't think they qualify as the Antichrist, I doubt Jesus would be very happy with his church.
The church still does some wonderful things, so obviously it isn't everyone. I've met some religious people who have made nothing but a positive impression on me. Unfortunately, that seems to be the minority. Because of papal infalibility and just the general idioicy of humanity, the church has strayed far from the teachings of Jesus. (Even if you don't believe he was the son of God, he was a damned nice guy!)
The church is incredibly money and power hungry, and its throuroughly corrupted.
In my experience, Cathloics tend to be very focused on money. I've never gone to church without them demanding more money for new robes for the priests, or a new golden chalice for the services. What ever happened to the church being poor and humble and helping the poor? There is even a story in the bible about Jesus freaking out about his temple becoming centered on money. Jesus used a wooden cup at the last supper, why does the church have to use gold? Do you really think Jesus cares?
Jesus said love everyone, even your enemies. He also said that no human has the right to judge any other. (Remeber the story about the crowd stoning the prostitute? "He who is without sin may throw the first stone". Since to be human is to sin, then the whole point of that is that NOBODY gets to throw stones. Some people just missed the point) Many contempary christians seem to be the quickest to tell you that you're a horrible person, that you're going to hell, and to judge you. Those people are not christian. They're idoits who want to feel powerful.
About hating gays, the part of the bible that condemns gays appears in Leviticus. (I'm 99% sure it dosen't appear anywhere else) Leviticus also says that women need to sacrifice two doves after they have their peroid before they are 'clean' agian. It also says that when you capture a female slave and kill her husband, you must trim her nails and shave her head before you can sleep with her. (This isn't considered adultry because she's a slave) Get my point? The church picks and chooses from the bible, instead of following everything or nothing. The church hating gays is because someone desided that particular passage was more important then the rest. On top of that, the old testement was passed on verbally for thousands of years before it was written down, and most of the gospels were actually written hundreds of years after Jesus's death. There are mistakes, and there are mistranslations. People need to stop reading it literaly.
Don't let christians sour you on christianity. Christianity, when practiced correctly, is a beautiful thing. Most people just don't do it right. Many people just use it to feel superiour to others, or use it to gain money or power. (11% of parishes have had more then 10,000$ stolen by priests. A much larger number have had less then that stolen).
People are people- no one is perfect, even christians. Take it all with a grain of salt. People can be stupid, no matter what religion they are. Most of the idoits calling themselves christian aren't even close!

Oh you are so right - Consider that the God of the Bible killed something like 2,270,365+ people while the Satan of the Bible only killed 1 person.
Then there is the part where God lied to Adam and Eve and said they would die if they ate the apple whilst the Devil told Eve it was Knowledge. She ate, became smart, and didn't die! So would you rather follow a lier who wants to keep you in the dark or follow Lucifer (bringer of light) who wants you to be informed and intelligent?
Then there's the 350+ references to burnt offerings. If you go to heaven you will be ruled by a God who loves the smell of burning flesh.
Read the part where there are four hideous beasts full of eyes and wings surrounding God's throne, chanting day & night. And they are chanting over a dead lamb with seven horns. Rev. 4
Think, people! Are you sure you know where you are going when you die?
Please, go eat an apple. Let the light shine in and don't be deceived by all the "fluff" in the Bible. Read between the lines.

I Disagree:The "Anti-Christ is that Voice that says Jesus Christ was not and Isn"t God:
The Quote "God Helps those who help Themselves"
Not in the Bible,The ones that can"t "Help themselves,Is the very Ones God is calling.
Needing Help with a Math test, why not ask God for Help?
Football Game ,Why not,Lord may we have a fair contest;Lord we ask that None gets Injured. If it is a concern to an Indvidual Pray about it,God will let you know if you shouldn"t pray.Something that might be insignifcant to You
may be a Major concern to Person asking for Help:
Also Your statement that You walked away from God,But then
You say, He Died for our Sins:I would ask this Question. Are You an Apostate?

i don't relatively have a concern with modern-day kit. whether, i'm a traditionalist in worship, relatively interior the component of church track. My church makes use of classical track, and that i admire that very plenty. It supplies a deep experience of reverence to a provider, quite than making it look as though i've got purely wandered into the close by coffeehouse. If the track gets too overly modern-day, i don't have a concern with human beings taking part in that each physique they like to, yet individually, i'm going to flow someplace else. the right ecosystem of reverence in a church is what, to me, facilitates separate sacred time from generic time. in my view, church isn't a carnival sideshow, and faith should not be cheapened for the sake of exciting the parishioners.

The antichrist will probably be an American president, since he will be powerful, and to be elected president, one of the unspoken rules is to be a member of the Christian church., so it may very well be. I am a Christian, but I do not pray for small things and I do not hate any people, only their actions. I disagree with probably every church denomination, but I believe God's word. God is Love.

Jesus said that many who claim to be Christian will be surprised that he will refuse them. When we ask God for things with the wrong motives, he resists us. He looks at the heart. We leave judgment to him.
Many who claim to be Christian may be part of the anti-christ's coming to power. Think of the Catholics that pray to Mary and saints. The bible specifically says we have only one mediator, Jesus Christ.
While you raise interesting ideas, they are muddled by your own doublemindedness. If you believe in the anti-christ, why don't you believe in Christ?

I have always said "Watch out for the church(meaning the liberal church) they are much more dangerous than the self proclaimed Satanist."
They are a joke and a decoy to get our eyes off the church that doesn't believe in the "Literal" resurrection and Sonship of Christ. That the church is the final word ,not scripture. That is the real threat not a bunch of nerds who traded in their Star Trek memberships for the Church of Satan cards.
