I'm going to probably going to get a lot of negative feed back on this but who cares, the truth must be shown. Is science a religion. They have their own structures of practices, and even believe in the almighty Big Bang. They have the doctrine of evolution. And are always looking for newcomers. So why don't they admit it and say that they are?

Science is a method, nothing more nothing less. Everything else is the body of knowledge generated through application of this method. You don't have to believe this or that. You just have to follow the method and be honest in your research and findings.

Everything in science is subject to extreme skepticism before it has proved it's worth. Things aren't accepted as dogma and data is always open to reinterpretation. For example, Newtonian Mechanics is now discarded as untruth (but a good approximation) even though it was THE mechanics for centuries.

Science relies on the methodical study of evidence to establish facts- how does that in any way resemble a religion. You would like to think that it was a religion but the "argument" you've provided is garbage.

No science isn't a religion. Science explains how the Earth and certain things in outer space work. Nothing more and nothing less.

It can be a religion, if people only accept things that say that there is no God, but ignore those facts that say that there is a God.

example -
Dinosaur bones are said to be proof of no God (because they are suppose to be millions of years old and the God says that creation is only about 6,000 years old).

Human and dinosaur footprints in rock prove that there is a God (because evolution says that creation is billions of years old while man in only several thousands of years old, and we were separated by millions of years, but the Bible talks about man and dinosaurs living together).

it's not a religion because scientists do not sit around worshipping the big bang theory, they try to find answers, they prove and disprove different theories, science is based on facts

religion is based on faith

Science is based on tried and predictable evidence........that's why it's called "science", dear...... The reason we have the lightbulb, or the internet was not based on faith, but based on facts and predictability of outcome.

Religion is based on faith ALONE>
