do they provide the same protection? i was at the sunglass hut and the guy told me they do not provide the same protection, he said how much effort do you think they put into 10 dollar sunglasses, you get what you pay for, and he was not tryin to sell me, i had already bought a pair of sunglasses.

yes there is a very big difference. sunglass hut guy was right. The best sun specs are polarized lens, that block 100 % ultra violet rays which can cause eye damage plus a whole lot of other problems like those nasty crows feet around the yes....polarized lens will block the light so you wont squint

I do have to say EVERYONE needs to wear sun protection, including children......I have actually seen 25-35 year olds
with the beginnings of CATARACTS. even if you wear the dollar store brand it is slightly better then nothing

I think you can try this site, i bought from them before.
The sunglasses comes with box, and the shipping is fast.
it takes about 7 days to be delivered to my home door.

Sunglasses will have ratings...as long as those ratings are the same, the protection they provide are the same. However, the materials used may be different where the more expensive designer brands may be more scratch resistant, reduce glare more, have a sturdier frame, etc. If you're not one to break or lose your sunglasses, I'd recommend getting a "better" pair because you'll never outgrow them, and your eyes are not something to mess around with, IMO.

Unfortunatly he is correct. Plastic lenses don't provide the same protection as actual treated lenses. I personally have $20 glasses because I am a notorious sunglass loser and my husband would freak if i bought a $60 pair each time.

They are the same in a lot of cases, but the Designer sunglasses are usually made of nicer, more sturdy materials. The lenses in Designer glasses are usually more tinted in better areas, and sometimes they are polarized for better protection! :)

I saw this on Oprah. The same people who make the fake sunglasses, make the designer sunglasses. They cost more because of the desgin from the designer. Thats what your paying for. They all work the same. Its just tint and plastic! Some have better tint and work better for different conditions of weather.

Same protection. The desginer ones might be made of sturdier material so they'll break less and fall off less but that's it. you're really just paying extra for the hype.
