Everyday there is rubbish piling up in skips outside my house. Everything from carpets to bottles to used nappies. Someone once told me that 4% of household waste consists of used nappies. I have no evidence that this is true, but why don't more people reuse and recycle?

I do wish people would recycle and be more aware of health and hygiene standards.

To protect the environment and save on electricity - switch off tv standby when you go to bed - reduce your hot water temperature.

To help save the environment - stop using bleach and stop using insecticides and any aerosols.

For the sake of health and hygiene place all used nappies and cooked food debris inside plastic bags inside secure lidded dust bin, this will avoid attracting RATS.

A bit of a stupid question, as we all just need to be more aware of what we use and throw away.

One suggestion is get everybody to work for one of the energy companies like Scottish gas, hydro electric. These companies train thier staff on energy advice to help consumers reduce thier bills, so in turn the staff are made aware directly

try doing as much as you can without preaching or becoming an annoyance to your friends and family.

Recycle, walk, cut down on the plastics you use (I take my rucksack with me when I go shopping so I dont use carrier bags) turn your appliances off if youre not using them, use energy efficient lightbulbs and try to think about the environmental implications of the things you do.

use less resources.

get in touch with the seasons, eat only seasonal local food. or grow your own. this will make a small difference and will reduce how much food you may waste.
