Most good golf shots take out a little bit of the ground behind/underneath the ball when it is struck. A "chili dip" shot occurs when the player's stroke takes out WAY to much ground behind/underneath the ball, and usually the ball is just popped up, or dribbles out a few yards in front of the player...

That is when the club goes under the ball and makes a big divot. The ball does not go very far sometimes the divot will go further than the ball.

A worm burner is when you top the ball and it rolls on the grass. The ball does not go into the air. So when you ask someone how they played and they say "their are dead worms everywhere" they topped the ball a lot

A wonderful party favorite that I make with "Chili Man" chili (no beans), half an onion, half a can of refried beans and melted cheddar. Serve warm with tortilla chips and you're in dip heaven.
