I have worked in the same underpaid and seemingly undera-preciated profession as a CNA and home health aid for 20 years and really got burned out woking in a nursing home after 10 yrs.but I never stopped caring for the people that I cared for.I gave them the best care that I could gove as they deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. So even if my bosses may or may not have appreciated the quallity care that I gave, I knew our residents and or customers did,by there smiles and knowing they were made comfortable even till the end of there journey.
I do agree the medical proffession is grossly underpaid, but don't ever think that your job is not important if it wasn't for caring people like us who would take care of the frail and ill people.Ours is a more nobel profession then any CEO! The man upstairs knows it too!!

Hey just remember the people who get better and have their health returned to them. Brainstorm to think of all of the people that you have helped and all of the people that are that much better because of you, and all of the people that you made more comfortable before death.
Think really hard about the first time you wanted to become a nurse/health care worker and remember why you wanted to do it in the first place. And go where your heart is.

Seeing somebody on the factor of you die is quite difficult to handle . although, a marvelous type of the persons you would be having touch in all risk is only no longer any of your loved ones or acquaintances. as quickly as you get your credentials and start up working with sufferers, you have a undeniable quantity of "distance" between you and the sufferers. the way it is going to influence you will desire to somebody code blue on your accountability shift, in basic terms you could answer that your self. i'm beneficial there will be a help team on the scientific facility you would be at to help with this occasion. in case you do witness a dying, don't be afraid to precise your thoughts. Ask for help in case you're able to desire to. many times, the final public view scientific workers as merciless or hateful because of the fact they furnish undesirable information "your relative has died". we tend to ignore they're human too and have thoughts. yet we additionally ignore they have a job to do and we never get to be certain how they cope with dying.

My sister and I both worked in nursing homes as nursing asstitants. We both wanted real bad to work over at the hospital, to work around different ages not just the elderly.Well, my sister got lucky and they called her to go to work. She said she couldnt take it. You would have to help give a child c.p.r. and sometimes the child would die.She just wasnt strong enough to work there.
That true about the pay. Nurses dont get paid half of the money they should get.

Change is good. You are experimenting to find your place.
Talk to your co-workers and find something where you work with people who aren't dying.
Your work with these people is important. Maybe you need to work with younger people.
Not everyone can cope with what you do. You have to be able to see life objectively. Dying is part of living. It's not like they are family or close friends. You need to separate personal feelings from your job.
