All those papi, guapo or simpático expressions are just related to somebody who is good looking. But maybe you want to compliment somebody for getting a new job, or for having finished school or university, etc.

On the Spanish trip we had a couple of years ago, the teachers always mucked about and said 'If you see a really fit guy, shout 'guapísimo' at him. It means 'really really good looking'

I haven't had the (un)fortunate opportunity to try it out yet... (I'd chicken out anyway...)

Try: ~Hola guapo siempre te vez bien pero hoy exageraste~
which means something like: "hi cuttie you always look fine but today you exagerated" (meaning that tody he looks really hot)!!! You can also call him "bombon" (which translates to marshmellow) but many latin-american girls call boy "bombones" when they're really cute. "Guapo" means good looking, dont say "Guapa" as thats the female. All male descriptions end in "o". Good luck!
