To make a decision about global warming, you really need to back up what you think with evidence. There is overwhelming scientific evidence that co2 is one of the things that is causing global warming, but you're right it might not be and there are some scientists that don't think that there is. If you really care about this subject why don't you join them? Get yourself educated and get a degree in climate science - then you can expose the truth to the world - whatever you decide that truth is once you've considered the evidence. I'm not meaning this to sound mean - I'm serious - someone with a critical mind like you would make a great scientist, but you need to get out there and learn and understand before you judge.

"fact that co2 doesnt cause " ... is that supposed to say does cause. Right now no one is denying that co2 is a large contributor to global warming. We are now above 380 ppm, a level unprecendented in 650,000 years and earths surface temp has always related to the level of co2. I think the reason it's still debated in the "media" (note* media...NOT scientists) is because Coal plants make money, cars make money, and money has influence. The second reason would be that people are comfortable and with just a little tiny doubt, will not change their lifestyle just because their's a 99.9 percent probability that the world will burn up in about 50 yrs...

Nature recycles CO2 with the "carbon cycle". But it's a delicate balance. We're messing up the balance by digging up carbon the natural cycle buried thousands of years and burning it real fast.
The data here shows it clearly. The tiny teeth are the natural cycle, with plants absorbing it during summer, and a variety of natural sources increasing it in winter. The big curve up is us, burning fossil fuels.

The data also shows clearly it isn't the sun. Solar increase is 0.12 watts per meter squared, man's warming is 1.6 watts per meter squared, more than ten times as much. Page 4 of this report.

You can't rely on logical arguments to understand global warming. You need to actually look at numerical data. Climate scientists do that, and the vast majority of them believe global warming is real. Data about that is here:

Science is all about the data, not about who can argue words best.

It isn't 'governments' as such, more people in government who have bought into the hysteria and misinformation. Most of these people have little or no scientific competence and so are unable to critically evaluate the evidence for themselves; instead they rely on others who often have a political rather than a rational motivation. Global warming, in particular, is a convenient excuse for a large number of organizations to push an anti-capitalist socialist agenda.

Do not believe everything you are told.
Trees help clean the air of carbon dioxide and give out oxygen helping us all to breathe.
Man removes trees and on top of that pumps out more carbon emissions from jet planes etc (and the rest).
Seriously what do you think will happen if this continues.
Any person with average intelligence should realise that we actually should be planting more trees (if we are not going to reduce the carbon emissions), simply to cope with the added pollution and maintain a reasonable air quality for breathing purposes and survival of the human race.

I think most of the people in the government who are talking about global warming do not know enough about the issue to dispute the claims that carbon dioxide is the cause of global warming.
If you look at the data from the ice cores taken from Antarctica it actually shows that carbon dioxide increases occur after the Earth's temperature increase, contrary to the claims of Gore.

POLITICS
ecologists and scientists who work for politicians ,get paid by these politicians and they have downplayed the facts because solutions are expensive and means change and change effects many peoples incomes, and upsets profit margins,so most of the world is kept in the dark of the real things that are going on.

I would like to believe this is true, but how do you know this?
How do you pump millions of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere and not cause some sort of problem?
How do you know the other side of the argument isn't big business propaganda?
