I am sorry you child has to return home and I urge you to write it to the head of DMV and ask for a receipt for cash payment issue instead. Unfortunately, you are dealing with the government agency and it is the way that sets up. However, you can prevent it by writing a LETTER so next time someone does not have to drive back home in it which it costs gas and time Plus a feeling that lost. For a child it is a frustration. On their website, paperwork, and signs at the office - they say no cash in english and spanish
if they only take checks and plastic, then there is a paper trail of the transaction. Cash leads to temptation.

They are a government entity. They can do what they want. Most state agencies do not have provisions to handle cash payments.

The MVD go out of it's way to inconvenience some one. I never heard of such a thing . I can't believe it. Of course they can. That's what they live for. Weather it's right,that's another thing.
