My mom is my best friend. She knows everything about me, and I know everything about her. We are a lot alike and have the same priorities and outlooks on life. I can talk to her about anything and she always has the best advice.

It's not that I don't love my father, or that I give my mom more credit just because I am closer to her, but she deserves it.

My mom is the one who has been there for me through thick and thin, who took me to my softball games, made sure my hair was done for school everyday, cooked me dinner, read me bedtime stories, tucked me in at night and taught me everything I know about life and relationships.

My dad chose alcohol over my sister and I, and neither one of us are very close to him.

I try not to resent him, because they say that you learn to be the most like those that you resent the most, but sometimes it's hard to realize that my life was like it was.

I do love my father, unconditionally, but I will always have more respect for and love my mother so much more. It's inevitable.

Not all of us had mothers who were wonderful parents. Many people grew up with abusive, over-bearing, selfish mothers. Fortunately, I have allowed myself to grow and mature despite my hellatious childhood.
I have not been in contact with my mother for about 20 years, because I finally decided to stop allowing her to bring negativity into my life. I respect the good things she tried to do, but will not be "friends" with her now, as she has never matured or grown as a person.
My father was the gentle, kind-hearted parent in my life. I base my life and actions more on what he showed me. I miss him greatly as he died in 1989. How he ended up with my mother, I will never know.

I love both my parents equally.

People should give their dads credit more often.

I prefer my mom cuz she hadn't been violent and neurasthenic like my father. I 'm glad he 's gone.
