I recommend buying gym equipment with weight resistance.
I use a bench press, but for you.... you should buy that big inflated ball grab some weights cross your arms and do sit ups on the ball.

Yes, you can get shorter, but not necessarily from the weight. Disc compression in your spine is one cause, poor posture another and osteoporosis is yet another. Dehydration can also reduce the fluids in your disc area, which is sometimes the cause of the disc compression. Check with your doctor to rule out problems, particularly if you have pain.

Surprisingly, people have reported regaining height doing Pilates regularly. I have disc compression due to age and I've regained all but about 1/4 inch of lost height just doing situps (I haven't even lost 10% of my weight). My theory is that the stretching of the spine helps with rehydrating the discs. My back pain went away too which is why I started the situps in the first place! Don't expect overnight success. It took several months before I really started seeing improvement.

gaining weight does not cause you to get shorter. As women age, they can seem to lose height, but is generally, bone degeneration. Chances are, you seem shorter since you are not proprtioned the same now that you are heavier, or perhaps your posture needs some work. pilates and Yoga can correct your posture, thus making you appear both taller and 10 pounds slimmer.

It's an optical illusion. Unless you have osteoperosis you probably did not shrink. Just stand up straight.
