I used to have a siamese cat that would 'fetch' scrunched up pieces of paper, just like a dog. She would happily play this game for hours!

My daughter made a "fishing pole" type by getting a stick, attach a long string (yarn) and bunch of plastic rings from milk and soda bottles and tied together like a fishing pole ... My cat went nuts! ...
My cat goes crazy with boxes too ... We bring them home from Sam's Club and we'd throw 2 or 3 boxes under the table and throw some paper balls or rings in the boxes she'll go nuts in the boxes ... Eventually I have to throw out the boxes when we bring home new ones because she does get bored with "old" boxes ...
I know there's more but my daughter comes up with lots of ideas to keep the cat entertained ...
Only thing we won't give the cat is shoe laces because we want her to keep her paws off our shoes with shoe laces on them ... So far she's never gotten into it ... *knock on wood*

We named him Chico because my husband is keen on the Marx Brothers yet Chico matches him because Chico potential small in Spanish. My loved 5 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous cat died from Pancreatitis in February so now I have a acceptable Maine Coon named Dylan who we rescued from the SPCA. She is so acceptable. She has lengthy hair and she is likewise very female searching. All of her hair makes her seem large yet she weighs lower than 8 kilos. She is the nearest ingredient to a canines. Maine Coons are really sweet and could also tolerate strolling on a leash.

What is it with those twist ties?? Tries chewing them, swiping them, biting and throwing them!! When a package arrives she jumps on the box, sniffing every corner. When the contents are taken out - in she jumps covering herself with foam packing (have you tried removing them from a long black coat?!?). Dangling arms from the chair/settee or bed get pounced on. Favourite has to be the (not homemade) rod with elastic cord on the end of which is a mouse with a microchip squeak (sounds more like a bird chirruping). This not only has her leaping and chasing when we play with her, but she will pick up the mouse and (with the cord and rod being dragged behind) carry it from room to room and on the stairs, as if to being her own pet to take wherever she wants!
When arriving home with shopping she cannot wait to get in the bags and hide.
Never cease to amuse!!

Try getting some baby booties from the store and buy a bit of catnip. Sew some catnip inside the baby bootie (get one with a little bell on it or a 3-D picture) and the cat will have a nice toy!

kitchen roll ripped into 4 pieces and then scrunched up...no bigger..no smaller!
my toes poking through the bubbles in my bath!
my brand new curtains that cost me a fortune!
my mobile phone cable..this is the 3rd one as they like to attack it and bite it!
My jeans when i take them off..they like to hide in the legs!
a piece of paper tied to string and hung over the door so it dangles and swings!
My vinyl record player...Grrrrrrrrrr!
coins left on my bedside cabinet are usually gone by morning!
the sunday newspapers...i always find them spread about the room on monday morning!
but i would never get rid of the little monsters...bless em!
it makes me wonder reading your answers..if all these cats are indoor cats by any chance?

My cats love the rings from around the top of the milk jug, a wad of newspaper, and when they were kittens they liked it when we cut out holes in a paper bag so that they could run through them at high speeds.

Their favorite thing started life as a Kitty Kat Circus, but has now become "The garage."
Poppy is weird and doesn't play like other cats. But one game she has always loved is "Wizard of Oz." (Pay no attention to the cat behind the curtain.)
She loves to hide behind a curtain while I poke at her with something. She attacks! I scream! It's great fun for everyone.
So after buying that contraption for xmas for them, and having them pretty much ignore it, I came up with the brilliant idea of throwing a sheer curtain over it.
Score! Now both of them love to hang out inside of it.

I have four cats, and they all love to play with the rings off of milk jugs. One toy I make for them is a catnip sock. I usually will go buy a pack of little girls nylon socks, you know the ones, with lace around the top. Then I fill the toe with catnip, and tie the sock in a knot. They go crazy!
