Hi, i just have a few questions about my two cats! They are both about a year and 4 months old and they are both male. They are strictly house cats coz I live in an apartment.
1. One of my cats loves eating house lizards. Are there any side effects from eating too much of them?
2. My cat's have started to 'mark territory' which leads me to believe that they are at a 'mature' stage but I am scared to get them fixed coz I heard that cats stop interacting and being affectionate with their owners once they get nurtured. Is there any basis to this...? coz i keep puttin the vet appointment off.
3. As I said abv, they are at a mature stage. One of my cats has started to 'molest' my other cat, altho he doesnt actually get anything done. How can i stop my cat from doing this?
4. I feed them Iam's Adult Original Dry Food. One of them keeps barfing. I can't really tell if it's hairball but its usually brown and with a lot of liquid. Wat exactly is this?
Thanks for your help! :D

The House lizards come from outside...they hang on the wall but some unfortunate buggers fall on the floor and my cat, who eagerly waits underneath watchin them if it catches his eye, pounces!

I have years and years of experience with cats, and there are NO negative personality effects from being neutered. THe only changes will be positive. They'll be laid-back, LESS aggressive, and most likely won't mark. All the neutered male cats we've ever had have been sweet, very affectionate and VERY attached to "mommy."(whether their mommy was me or My mother.)
I do wish people would realize that cats should be fixed at 6 months. If you'd gotten them neutered before they started spraying, you'd be almost 100% guaranteed that they never would. Now, you can hope for the best, but once he's in the habit of marking, there's no guarantee he'll stop. But most neutered males don't mark. You still got a chance.
Absolutely neuter. They won't be any less sweet. It's also possible that the molesting will stop. That's one thing I DON"T have experience with, cuz I never had a male that wasn't fixed before puberty. So, I can't say for sure. Don't know if it's a lust thing or a dominance thing.
As for the lizards, see what you can do to reduce the amount in your house. They shouldn't hurt your cat, but it would be a good idea to do whatever you can to keep him from getting too many.
Cats often vomit, but you might want to discuss it with your vet. This whole recall thing has gotten scary! Maybe you might want to feed them tuna (packaged for human consumption) until this whole thing is sorted out! LOL

I don't know about the lizards because we don't have that problem in Quebec. Ask your vet when you bring them in to be neutered. Yes, you should definetly get them done. It's makes them more lovey, calms them down quite a bit, is better for their health and no more marking territory :-) I'd do this quick though because you don't want them to get into the habit of it, if they do then you have a major problem on your hands.
For territory already marked you can use Nature's Miracle or other "enzyme" base cleaner to get the smell out. It works like magic!
The "molesting" might never go away. Even after he's neutered. he's showing his dominence over the other cat it will continue until the other cat turns the tables on him, if he ever does. He might be content living as "second cat", if he ever decide's to challenge the dominant one, they'll work it out , hopefully without hurting one another.
Iam's wet food was recalled, not dry food. So I wouldn't worry about kidney failure. He could be eating too fast (so the other cat doesn't get it) and it's coming up because of that (if he does it right after eating), try feeding them from separate dishes if you aren't already. It could be he's allergic to something in the food, or it's most likely a hairball. Don't mean to be gross, but to find out for sure you can dissect it with plastic cutlery before you discard it.
Edit: Forgot to mention, if it is a hairball you can "hairball control treats", you give them each about 10 little kibble sized pieces a day and works pretty good.

There has been a recall on some Iams products. The "barf" may be a hairball but call your vet asap anyway.
Neutering makes cats MORE affectionate, less likely to get cancer and more well behaved, but if you wait too long bad habits can become ingrained and neutering is less effective after several years, but still worth doing.
Please don't buy house lizards, especially if your cat is going to eat them. Its cruel. And yes it can certainly make your cat very sick.

I am not sure about the lizards, as long as he is still eating cat food and getting the nutrients he needs I dont see why not. As for them getting nutered that is not right, they dont stop intereacting with you, its the owner that stops intereacting with them so they ignore you. And getting them nutered will cut down on their testosterone and they wont have to molest each other and they should also stop spraying. When you go to the vet to have them nutered as about the lizards and suspicious hairballs.

You need to get them fixed, or your going to be smelling cat pee from them marking their territories, and it's a b*tch to get rid of! It depends on the cat if they are affectionate or not. my female will go to anyone and their brother, but my male will only stay with me or other women, he will not go to a man.

I have 3 male cats and they are all fixed and their are still as affectionate as before we got them neutered. They even love stragers. Please get them fixed. It will be easier for you and your cats will live a healthier, longer life!
