Is anyone celebrating this Sabbat today? How..? My family used to plant flowers, paint eggs and spring clean (which means it may be seen as a concentrated effort to rid your home of the problems and negativity of the past months, and to prepare for the coming spring and summer.) Now we went separate ways and I do this with my children.
I was wondering how everyone else celebrates Ostara?
May the God and Goddess bless you all with fertility, abundance, success, and all things new!

I think this is an ancient Egyptian tradition.
advice :
try to put some garlic outside your doorstep and windows...that would prevent evil spirits from entering inside...and also hang an ancient Egyptian(Pharaonic)SMALL RED iconic antique on the wall...that will help keeping you all safe.
anyway I wish luck to you and your children.

We usually try to do some cleaning and we have eggs for dinner. We won't be planting anything as there is still a few inches of snow on the ground. And later tonight I will turn my Wheel of the Year.

Bright Blessings and Happy Ostara )O(

I'll be celebrating Ostara on Friday as my coven couldn't get together until then. We'll be planting flowers or herbs and painting eggs.

Happy Ostara!

Wait until April 8th and you'll see millions of christians hunting for painted eggs, inside and outside their homes decorated with rabbit images and Easter egg trees! They'll parade through their churches in their new spring clothes with their Easter lilies, celebrate the anniversary of their god's resurrection and go to their freshly cleaned homes to eat the (pagan) Easter ham.

Some churches or towns will even decorate and weave ribbons around their May poles and call it cultural history.

That's how Ostara is celebrated, but the PC name of the holiday is called Easter (why isn't it called Resurrection Sunday?)

Incidentally, "PC" stands for Post-Christ. It amazes me that christians think that applying new labels to pagan customs makes them acceptable to the G-D of the Bible who specifically said they were NOT to take on the customs of the pagans around them and to keep themselves separate.

I have respect for the true pagans of this world, who don't share my religious views nor I theirs, but they are more true to their gods than the christians so often are to theirs.

I'd love to but I have no money and the Christian family I live with (my 80 year old Catholic grandmother) would freak. Its not worth it.

Blessed Be.

Luckily, I did my house cleaning last week, as now I've had the flu, so no celebrating today (can't handle the smell of eggs, lol).

Yes, except I normally don't plant anything till next month, we do a lot of cleaning. So, needless to say, my kid hates this time of year. lol

my mom tried to get me to do all that stuff(my dad was catholic). But I am an atheist. I like all the traditional things but I don't practice anymore-except for passover dinners and stuff
