Honey, unless you paid alot of money for her, I would 86 her for hurting my plants, and that's exactly what I did, when I had a kitty years ago, who would bite and dig in the dirt of my plants, not to mention crawl up my drapes, and the like, she was more of a pain in my rear, than anything, so I gave her away! I loved my plants she destroyed, I also love animals, that are good ones, and to train her was like pulling "Eye teeth" she wasn't about to listen to me or my husband, so we gave her to some friends!! In the meanwhile I had to try to salvage what was left of my plants, and even had to buy a couple more to cheer me up for what she'd done to the one's I already had!! She was one of those really "Naughty" cats, kitten er' rether!! And we both worked, so we couldn't take any more chances with her, 'Naughtiness' you know!! Smile, I'm sure you can find a way to get your cat together, if your patient enough, that is, I wouldn't spray those plants with any chemicals, or you'll kill your plants!!

It would probably be a smell that you wouldn't like either! Sounds like your cat is bored. They will find a way to amuse themselves if they are bored and knocking things down from shelves seems to be a favorite past time of most cats. Maybe buy some kitty toys?

You can either monitor your cat and spary her with water from a spray bottle when she goes around them, or there is something called bitter apple is she likes to chew on your plants, its tastes really bad and any pet doesnt like it.

Use a spray bottle of water and spray the cat when he does this, or if you don't want water all over, use a very loud hissing noise or some noise every time he climbs on something you don't want him on, it works great. Good luck.

There is a spray you can purchase from pet stores that's harmless to humans, but if you spray it on wires, furniture and other things of that nature it deters the animal from chewing or eating... It's called something like "bitter apple"... I'd look into it.

VINEGAR is said to deter cats... can't remember if it's apple cider or white, but they hate the smell. Maybe you could but a bowl or small container of it here & there instead of spraying your stuff...?

Also, I've heard they hate the smell of Eucalyptus & Methol like Vicks Vapo Rub--- there may be an Menthol essential oil or something like that that would be easy to apply.
