The thing to remember about debates is that while you can't win over your opponent (rarely, anyway) you may win over members of the audience.
So the discussion or debate is worth doing.

Atheism is the most valid point, quite honestly. It cannot be proven to exist, therefore it doesn't. End of story.
Besides, it's a weak faith that cannot stand up to questioning. If they are so undermined, perhaps their faith isn't that strong to begin with.

I think our point has been made. Whether or not it has been absorbed by believers or not, is a different story.
That's one reason I've not been on R&S as much. I've said about everything I have to say on the subject.
I'd venture to guess that many believers and non-believers alike will get bored with the format, and they'll move on, making way for a new "generation" of R&S'ers.

No we should not go away.
Although I just might. At the risk of sounding .... I don't know what .... the recent pet food recall has pointed out to me how STUPID this category is. The believers just don't get it and never will.
We can understand them - most of us have been there - but they do not and never will understand our point of view.
So what's the point?
It's just that with other important things going on in the world, it seems silly to spend my time answering the same questions over and over and over again, day after day after day.
The good thing is there's sure to be a fresh new batch of atheists out there to whom this is all new.
My "blessings" upon them!

Any theist who feels that the discussion of belief vs. non-belief is not a valid discussion is an atheist lying to themselves trying to convince themselves that they really believe. A theist with faith enjoys the dialogue.

Atheism is valid because it questions the existence of God, who has never been proven to exist.

I think anyone has a right to express his ideas, possibly in a polite way (not the norm here).
