How do you make friends on my space, if you do not know someone, and just want some friends. My age may make a difference, and I am like in my 50s.

It seems like when you get older no one wants to be your friend but I feel us older people can be a friend too, and to people our own age, which there are plenty of people on myspace, which are in there 40s and 50s.

You need to go where people are. One of the place would be a Sunday School class at a local church. They are usually somewhat informal and you get a chance to meet people before and after.

Another place is an AARP chapter meeting. They usually have a chapter in every town and they meet about once a month.

Check the calendar of events in your local newspaper. There may be some club meeting that would interest you.

Bake a cake or some cookies and take over to a neighbor that you haven't met but you think would be nice to know. Tell them you were on a baking spree and decided to bake it for them.

The people are there, you just have to put forth the effort to get to know them.

Studies show that MySpace is most frequently used to keep in touch with people that you already know.

The best way to make friends on MySpace is to ask people that you already know if they have a profile - and if you can friend them if they do. If they don't, you can plug for the website if you'd like - maybe you can help someone new get into the social networking scene.

My personal experience leads me to recommend Facebook over MySpace, however, if you're looking to meet people. Facebook seems to me to be easier to use for one thing. For another, there are Groups you can join or start to meet people based on your interests. If you're a fan of a sports team, for example, you can join a Group for the team to meet other fans. There are Groups for just about everything from political issues to crafting to fan groups for individual authors or fictional characters.

In any case, welcome to the wild and weird world of social networking!

Just by going to their built in chat, you could find your new founded friend in no time. Another way is by browsing through a list of people from your selected country. Good Luck!
