there is no such thing as Jesus, thats why. try as you might but no one will give you a logical answer because they don't know themselves. if he was real you would know.

If the bible versus seem confusing lets try to figure out why. The bible was composed of many writ tings years after the events occured. Can your grandfather remember the street address of the first girl he kissed? This is an example. The bible was written in an Arab type of language. After that time it was re-written and again and again. Mortal men who were responsible for interpret ting the bible were re-writ ting the bible to their own satisfaction. Many churches are so twisted they have headaches trying to sort out reality. The trouble with most baptists is that they are not held under water long enough when they are baptized. Born again christians are usually parolled mass murderers who figure out a good thing to latch on to.

What Jesus was saying is that if you look into parables and examine them (he who has ears let him hear and all that) then we learn what following Christ (or the secrets of the Kingdom og God if you will) is about. To those willing to look at them and examine them, they are very rich teaching tools. But if one is not willing to look into them then they remain puzzling simple stories (ie: parable)

You can imagine that even the disciples at this point were about ready to tear their hair out and shout. "Can you stop telling us what the Kingdom of God is and just give us a straight answer?"

If you want to read a much more erudite explanation of this then flip through a copy of "The Secret Message of Jesus" if you see it at B&N or if you find yourself trapped in a Christian book store. One of the early chapters explains this much better.

Hope this helps.

No, he spoke in parables so that those who wanted to know the truth could understand. Those that did not want to know the truth would not understand and therefore not be judged.

Unto whom much is given, much is expected. If you hear but don't understand, less will be expected.

You have to read it in full context. Don't take it out of context.

Also, quite helpful, pray for understanding before you sit down and read the bible. Meditate on what you read.
