With my three I did a reward system.Every time they sat on the potty they got to choose a gift out of the special box.I just filled the box with little age appropriate toys from the dollar store. If they went potty they were able to pick out a toy and got a special [healthy] treat. You'll want to take him to the potty at least every half an hour and also ask in between if he needs to potty.I wish you luck.I wouldn't waist your money on pull ups ,I never used them.I just let my kids put big boy underwear on over their diaper.

When my daughter was 2 I brought home a potty chair for her to get familiar with... For a few months we practiced using it with dolls and I would have her sit on it fully clothed so she could get the idea...
I made a big deal of wet diapers, and talked alot about what the potty was for, and read some books to her about using the potty...
Whens she was about 2 years and 3 month I took off a long weekend and went totally diaper free (except for naps and night time). The first day was chaos... I felt like all I did was clean up pee... By the end of the first day it was starting to click...
By the end of the second day we were hitting the target about 50% of the time, and by the end of the weekend we were nearly perfect...
She had only a handful of accidents after the first few weeks.
This may not work for everyone, but it worked for us...

When I potty trained my 6 kids. I put the ptty chair in the bathroom and I was not shy about having them in the bathroom when I had to go.Children learn from example. Then I got them use to sitting on the potty. once they got use to it , I would try once in awhile to put them on the potty seat but NEVER NEVER force them. My doctor with my first one said let your children be your guide. If she is not potty trained by age 4 you have a problem . With some kids it takes longer for them to feel any need to go.That part of their body too has to mature

i had 5 children it takes a while at least 6 months for them to get used to the idea to potty. the best thing to do is be consistent and have him/her go every 1/2 hour. let them get the feel for the potty.

You know I moved the potty in the room where he spent the most time so he could see it all the time...I put him in underware with superman etc on the "big boy underware"not pull ups as I believed they were still diapers.I asked him like every hour do you have to go to the potty? when he made potty in his chair I rewarded him...I gradually moved the potty in the bathroom when I knew he knew what having to pee or poop felt like.(.When his body told him its time to go.) It take time lots of time..if he's not ready dont push him wait another month and try again

WHAT EVER YOU DO DON'T PUSH HIM!
Its diffrent for all kids between 2 and 6 usually just make sure you continously show him its there and tell him what to do the first couple of times he starts going make sure you praise him and a little bribing won't hurt offer a treat or go some where special when he goes in his pants don't yell at him but bring him over to his potty and dump the poo in there and show him thats what you are supposed to do and sometimes it just takes a little tim and patients some kids feel as if they are letting go of part of their body so explain it to him so he doesnt feel like he is losing something from there it is all about what he feels like doing !
Good Luck

this is what i did with my now 4 year old son. we introduced the potty at 18 months just a chair he only sat on at bath time. after he turned two i started sitting him on it once an hour every hour for like 5 minutes each time. use regular underwear not pullups. use pull ups for nap bedtime and trips out of the house

I use to make it a fun time.....I use to read my children a book when we were in there.....when they got tired of sitting I would just say o.k. we can try later.....I also use to buy some big boy/big girl undies and use it as a reward.....when they would go on the potty they could come shopping and buy the undies they wanted....also using a "star board" is such a good incentive for anything with a two year old.....they should get a star just for trying....good luck...and thanks for bringing back a sweet memory for me.....my babies are 32, 20. and 17!
