The three year age difference is not bad. The thing you really have to worry about is a legal issue called STATUTORY RAPE (or whatever the legal tem for it is nowadays).
In a lot of states it is illegal for anyone 18 or older to be sexually involved with someone 18 or younger. I know it is a lot of work but find out the legal age of consent in your state and make sure that you aren't going to end up being labeled as a sexual predator if anything does happen between you two. That kind of thing will follow you for a VERY long time and can affect college acceptances and future employment opportunities if that does happen.
My personal recommendation, find someone 18 or older to be involved with just to make sure that you have nothing to worry about.

It should be cool to have a crush. She is 16 and most girls her age are more mature than you are at 19. The only problem is the whole statutory thing when it comes to dating.
The best advice anyone could ever give you is to just be friends. Go out on dates!...as friends.
It is not against the law to hang out with friends and doing things together.
If you choose to take the risk to go any further... watch your back. She could have strict parents, overprotective siblings or even jealous friends.

Guy, can you say, "I'm playing with gasoline and fire". Just by the fact she is under the age of consent complicates this relationship. Let her go. It will save you and her much grief. Dating her isn't the problem. The problem is when you and her go beyond just dating. It doesn't matter if she was active prior to you or not. If her parents want to press charges, you're screwed.

Yeah that's perfectly acceptable. And the whole if you have sex with her issue, well even if you do live in America (legal age 18) as long as the sex is consensual then I don't really see the problem, just make sure you don't get caught. good luck :P

I think it could be ok if you are above board with it and meet her parents and wait on any serious physical aspect of the relationship til she is older.

Keep in mind she's jail bait till she's 18 so don't go messin' around with her even if she wants to. If she's not that type? Then respect her.

Look into your local jails and see if you could handle that for a short or long stay.
