I am hovering above earth right now about to push a button that will knock out technology and send the earth back to the middle ages, while at the same time saving the eath fom global warming in the process...

You would definitely kill a great many people. All the people on life support, everyone flying in an airplane, those trapped in elevators, and all the traffic accidents it would cause. Just to mention a few. A very long list of dead people. A true Luddite would never use such a weapon. Perhaps an eco-terrorist. Anyone who seeks to impose his ideals forcibly upon another to the point that it kills them cannot be considered good. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
