It depends on the terrain. If its open plains or desert, 4th ID would crush everything in its path.
If it was in the mountains or in urban areas, the legs would know the steep price in taking on Paratroopers.

The 4th ID would win.
4th ID is a mechanized division
Meaning they have M1A1 tanks and bradley fighting vehicles and apache helicopters.
82nd airborne has no tanks, no bradleys.
It would still depend on the terrain.
About the only terrain the 82nd would have the advantage on, would be in the mountains, or very wet ground.

The winners would be the MPs who broke up the fight.
The losers would be everybody whose First Sergeants had to go down to the MP station at 0300 to sign the prisoner receipt then drive the (soon to be much lower ranking) soldiers back to the barracks.
This tends to make First Sergeants very, very cranky.

The crunchies would get annihilated in a heart beat. I was light and as such, we had "light power". If there is a fight between lights and heavy, my money is on the 4th. Plus, the 4th has the latest equipment out there.

Well considering you have to add fuel and ammo from the outside to an armoured vehicle.... it would be us.... the 82nd Airborne Division, "America's Guard of Honor".... on both combat tours with the 4ID, we had a hard time getting them to come out of thier tracks for anything other than chow. Thier guns can't elevate high enough to hit us and our AAD teams are tracking!

Has to be the 82nd. Having seen the numbers of medals awarded in Afghan, and Iraq, thinking most of them are still in, the 82nd has a lot more heros. Not to mention they can attack from above.
