Tape adapter...you'll eventually run into problems with the FM transmitter. In my car it doesn't work at all. In a friend's car it worked at first then started to crap out and was really fuzzy. Tape Adapter is real clear.

There are trade offs for both. The tape is better as it is a solid connection, but it has a messy cable to deal with. Sound can vary. FM is good, but some areas it is hard to get a clean frequency, like the bay area it just doesn't work. See the frequencies the device uses and then tune that on your car radio and see what comes in, if clean it might be the better choice.
Also, FM needs power, so you will need a cigarette adapter, battery ones probably wont last as long as you want.

I'd take a tape adapter over a wireless FM transmitter, and a hard-wired FM transmitter over a tape adapter.

i've got have been given the comparable iPod and that i've got been given a collection of three from Sainsbury's for extra or less £20. It coated an iPod USB cable, mains charger and FM transmitter. That replaced right into a solid deal because of the fact they look quite costly. i think of it replaced right into a belkin tunecast ii. that is undemanding to apply however the battery existence is amazingly damaging. i might value it 3 out of five. The sound high quality of that is amazingly solid. usual, in case you prefer a low priced FM transmitter on your iPod with respectable sound then that is amazingly solid. while you're aggravating approximately battery existence, possibly get some rechargeable batteries for it. wish this facilitates, solid luck find one that suits you!

tape adapter is clunky and ugly but way supeior to the fm transmiter. most transmiters only allow you to tune to the low and high end staions which are usually occpied by country/spanish/talk/christian music channels. at least in fresno they are. if you cant find a channel that has ABSOLUTLEY NO radio staion playing on it fm transmiter works fine. but that is hard to come by in bigger cities
id go withthe tape adapter or buy a new car deck with a ipod jack
