I think legislation should make laws requiring all software to have unistallers included that remove ALL files and registry entries and upon uninstalling to revert all changes made. Also, include a text file with details on all files installed, where they are, etc. Stiff and i mean stiff fines should be dealt to those who dont comply. With the internet becoming extremely popular even to older folks such as my 80yo Grandparents there needs to be better assurances that they are safe and their PC's as well. It's rediculous the amout of software out there that ruins your OS structure and or adds, makes changes that just should not be allowed.. even in "legit" software. What do you think?

I agree. but I also know we can't even get laws concerning spam enforced and that is an ever growing issue.

Until we get some real prosecutions that really make an issue of internet and computer security (which get big time national attention) maybe even send the offenders to Guantanamo (after all it is a terrorist act) we wont fair to well.

I would like to see this! I would really like to see some of the "free" spyware providers go to jail for the actions!

That's a good idea. I had never thought of that. I agree.
