Well I have an American Bulldog. There are many differences between the American Bulldog and the actual Bulldog (commonly known as English Bulldog). There is also many different breeds of Bulldog, so it depends on which breed you are referring to as well. The American Bulldog is of course a lot taller and faster than the Bulldog. Both dogs have a sturdy, muscular build, but the Bulldog is much shorter in appearance.

I have an American Bulldog. He is very different from an English bulldog. He is about seventy pound right now and he is only 8 months old. His energy level is much higher than an English. He is taller but still very stocky across the chest and his elbows still stickout and he has a very "bully" face I know that they dont doc american bulldog tails either. We do have problems with people thinking he is a Pitt bull tho.

A Bulldog is more compact than an American Bulldog. Americans kind of look like a Boxer head on a Pit Bull body, whereas the Bulldog is more muscular, stockier, and smaller.

there are three major types of bulldogs-English, French and American. The English variety is the largest, and most recognizable, with LARGE muzzle, ****** front legs, and droopy jowls. The French bulldog is a smaller version with less hang in the jowl and a more aggressive temperament. The American bulldog has a smaller muzzle, longer legs and a happy go lucky temperament. It closely resembles a boxer, but with a larger muzzle.
