I've never had a cat before, but I've had a lot of dogs. I just got a kitten a couple weeks ago, and she licks me constantly while I'm petting her. If I leave my bedroom door open when I've gone to bed, she'll jump on my bed and lick my face!!! She doesn't lick anything else, only me, and only while I pet her. How do I get my kitty to stop licking me???

How old is this kitten? If she's pretty young, it's normal. She's grooming you. It's what littermates do to each other. She's doing you a favor. She is reciprocating your petting of her.

It is a possibility that she was weened too quickly, so maybe that is why she licks you all the time....and since you are her "new mama". I think this is something kitten will grow out of, but in the meantime it is still annoying. You may want to think about going to Petsmart or some other pet store and find this spray (meant for cats who bite things but I'm sure you could use it for this occasion). It won't hurt your cat, just spray a little on your arm (definitely not your face) so when she licks, she'll get a bad taste. After a few times doing this she won't want to lick you anymore. If you don't want to do this you can always try sleeping with your bedroom door shut at night so she won't get in to lick your face. Good luck and enjoy your kitten!

I certainly have had many cats spayed. If the e-collar is that frightening for her, and that i do no longer blame her, do no longer problem. If she is quite disenchanted interior the cage i does no longer save her in that the two. what's important that she relax and be saved from harming herself. positioned her in a room containing no tall issues she may be probable to bounce on. If she likes to sleep on your mattress, the mattress room may be good, because of the fact the bounce isn't intense and she or he would curl up and sleep there for a protracted time. All cats will lick a wound, unintentional or surgical. it incredibly is instinctive habit. What she is attempting to do is sparkling it. as quickly as she "thinks" it incredibly is sparkling, she will leave it on my own. The habit to video show out for is pulling or biting on the stitches. that must be risky nevertheless I certainly have never had a cat do this. i might say to allow her sparkling the incision and attempt to maintain her superb and comfortable and quiet for some days. analyze the region two times an afternoon or greater for signs and symptoms of an infection at the same time with swelling, redness or pus. If it would not look correct to you call the veterinarian.

she's a kitten. That's what they do. She thinks you're her mum or litter mate. She might grow out of it but you shouldn't try to stop her.
