You can take the train, bus, or drive.

By train: Take a cab from the airport to the Beacon Train Station and then Metro-North down to Grand Central Station. OR, take a cab to the Salisbury Mills train station, then train down to Hoboken, and the PATH into NYC.

Bus - take a cab down to the bus station on 17K. This will be BY FAR your cheapest option.

Car: you can rent cars at the airport - Hertz and Avis are right there. Take the NYS Thruway (I-87) South to exit 13 - the Palisades Parkway, take the Palisades right to the George Washington Bridge. This is NOT your cheapest option.

The airport is in Newburgh, NY. If you want to take a train to NYC, take a cab from Newburgh to the Beacon train station across the river. That train will bring you to Grand Central Station on 42nd Street. If you want to drive, take the New York State Thruway south.

Go to the airports website, they have information on ground transportation.

You're not too far away. I'd suggest taking Metro North into Grand Central Station. From there you can get just about anywhere by subway.
