I also do not like 'fishy' fish. I detest Atlantic salmon, too fishy! But I love Pacific salmon! It is mild, firm, great! At the grocery store, ask the person behind the fish counter to let you smell it!
I turn the oven on 500 degrees. Put a couple of thick Pacific salmon fillets in a greased pan. Mix 1/2 cup of sugar free maple sirup with about 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke seasoning (in a bottle). Spread over the salmon. Cook for about 7- 10 minutes, depending on size of fillets, til they flake opaque.
It sounds weird but it is awesome! I took a 10 lb side of salmon, fixed this way, to a social event. My husband did not get any. People at the front of the line went back for seconds before he could even taste it. It is awesome!!
Also, a filet of orange roughy is awesome baked the same way with just salsa poured over it instead of the sirup/smoke mixture. Very tasty and healthy!

Many fishes are "fishy tasting" but you can kill that fishy taste by soaking it in milk for an hour or so or cooking it with alittle mayo or do both. But if this doesnt suit you I would recommend Haddock, or smaller fillets of cod, as the bigger the fillet the more it will taste like fish!!

I don't like strong fish either so here are my faves:
Monk Fish (aka:poor man's lobster) - this fillet will cook an segment like lobster tail so it grills, fry, and broils well with little more than a bit of butter or olive oil and a sprinkle of Old Bay
Sword Fish: Firm white will grill, or broil well and is great with lemon pepper or Mrs Dash
Sea Bass: (farmed please - wild is at risk) light and firm and perfect for ceviche, tacos and over rice.
You can find many more ideas for any of the afore mentioned fish at any of the recipe sites like allrecipes.com or recipezarr.com they are a wealth of easy and tasty dishes. Good Luck!

Go for white fish, cod being probably the mildest, also orange roughy (also called Dory), and sea bass. All are mild and hold up to a number of seasonings. Easiest is to season with dill and lemon juice then bake, broil or grill.

once you bypass to the shop ask for suggestions. maximum mild colored fish would be milder. Swai, Tilapia, flounder, perch and bass are all especially undemanding. seek for fish that are actually not probable oily. Salmon is a especially strongly flavored fish yet performed will that's great. do not forget that spices, herbs and rubs can do a similar for fish as they do for beef, beef and rooster.

Sole, Flounder, Catfish are all mild tasting fish.
Try broiling instead of frying.
Broil them with garlic butter and lemon.
