If he keeps digging at the same hole or same place, place his feces in the hole. Dogs will not dig through their own feces. If he's digging randomly around the yard, well, I can't help....

This helped with my dog but since she is still only about a year she does have mistakes every once in a while so be patient. Buy a baby pool and fill it with dirt. Then either wait to catch her in the act of digging in your yard and scold her at the place she dug and take her to the pool and show her to dig there or bury treats in the dirt for her to find. My dog loves the pool now. she runs around in the backyard and gets excited the jumps in the pool and digs. Good luck.

Simple, there is something you can get at the pet store that will fit your dog's size and iot is called a T Bar. You put it on the dog's collar and when the dog tries to dig, it hurts their paws so they stop and then they grow out of this behavior. They usually do whil a year or some dogs a year and a half. Really, thy catch on realoy fast. They do this because they are unhappy, so see what would make you unhappy in that yoard, like made to stay theem ate by flies or lonliness etc. make sure the dog has plenty of water, company, and food, not gflies nor ants, also, they need company, or bring it in the house, give it a bath and take it out when necessary.

I'm not sure how old you dog is but if it is fairly young you may be able to teach your dog to stop. You should wait until your dog starts digging and then scold it for being bad. Another thing you should do is when it goes out side and doesnt dig, reward it with a treat. The treat always encourages my dog to quickly do his business, sniff around and run inside because he knows he was good.
Good luck

Scoop his/her poop and put it in all of the holes and on top after you fill them in, if that doesn't work buy a roll of chicken wire and place it in the holes under a thin covering of dirt. Or you can just do what I did which was train my dog not to dig.. I would squirt him with the hose, put little garden fence around the area etc and taught him the command "no digging" mind you if I dont say that before I let him outside he may still dig but as long as I say that when I let him out he wont...

Pet stores have some products that you can put down to make the area no longer attractive for your dog. We also put down stones in ou yard where she was digging my the patio. It worked well. Also- a digging dog is a bored dog. Food balls are a great way to keep your pooch entertained, while your gone. That and walks!

ok first you should outfit your dog with a slip collar and a good leash and take it for at least a 40 minuete, but it really just has to be enough to get all his energy out really, because he may be frustrated. after doing this and the proplem persists go up to him while he is digging and correct the dog by touching him in the neck with your hand in a claw position and push him and make a loud noise, and keep him away from the hole, keep his attention off the hole, but i think that you need to go to some dog training web sites to, don't just use my advice

Your dog is more than likely bored . digging holes is one of the ways dogs burn off excess energy. I would suggest starting obedience classes give your dog a job like obedience training and work with your pert everyday. Dogs are very social creatures and require lots of interaction .
