lost your cat or dog due to this neglect of the company owners? I feel mad and sick over this, my kids are still crying and it's been a week and a half now. I am so mad. I feel like a murderer for feeding our beloved pet.

Some of you have the wrong idea! Special Kitty here is not cheap first of all. Actually, Friskies, 9 lives is cheaper! Also, this recall is also on iams and some of that other over-priced stuff.

I am so sorry. I work at a vet's, and one of the staff favorites, and the only companion to an elderly woman was put to sleep today for horrible kidney failure. He was only eleven months old. Please don't feel guilty. It isn't your fault, and there is no way you ever could have known. I am still sad about the cat we put to sleep, and I feel strong sympathy for him and his owner. The only people to blame are the people who didn't test the food good enough at menu foods, and the company the tainted ingredient came from. I am so sorry for your loss.

Sorry about your pet...I have 2 cats too and know what it feels like to lose them. You are not to blame for its death as you didn't know what was sold by these real murderers. I think some pet companies put in some addictive to get the cats eating their products only, like a pet cat of my colleague who ate only IAMS after it was first introduced to it. Even in nuggets and burgers, skin and all the unwanted parts of the animal is made into a paste... by some food manufacturers! I hope you and your family will get over this..and perhaps have another cat pet when the time is right...

Yes we had 3 cats to die during the cat food Special Kitty recall. Did not know anything about this until Tues March 20. We thought they were just old and that is the reason they died until I found out about the recall and checked numbers of upc and we had the pouches.

I lost my cat to and we have contacted a lawyer but he said there is not much that he can do they can only sue for the replacement value of the cat . In my opinion the there is no value high enough to replace my cat . We spent alot of money at the vet tring to save him but still had to put him down . We are so mad and sickened about this . There are alot more people who have lost animals then the are letting on . Now menu foods has turned off there phone we have been tring all week to contact them but no answer . If I were you I would still try to get something for your loss . My husband and I went to the local animal shelter and adopted a sweet little three leged kitten named Sam but we will always miss our teddy . You can contact me at jetspets2002@yahoo.com if you need to talk to someone .

I am so sorry to hear this. I'll pray for you and your family for losing a part of your family. It is too bad that courts don't put a value on pets lives so suing won't do any good at all. So Sorry. My cat has been sick for a long time for 2 weeks, after his tail got broke and had to have surgery. damm. I wonder if they fed him that **** in the office!!! Oh God!!!! he had surgery and eats nothing but fancy feast at home. Today he changes medication, if this don't work, a different vet will come into the picture!!! Oh God, I just realized this that he may have been fed this poision there!!!! Oh God!!!!!!!

I believe everyone who has lost a cat or dog due to this act of unresponsibility should get together and launch a massive law suit against Menue foods INC.Sue the bas****s.If it was human food there would allready be a law suit going for wrongful death...Step up and make a change in how our pet food is produced and distributed.

I feel that this has probably be going on for a while. we had a shitz zo that was only 2yrs the vet said that we should try giving her wet food to so she could but some more weight on we did and she died of kidney failure 3 weeks later she was fine until we gave her champion wet food. the vet did not know what went wrong until he rain some blood work and said she was in kidney failure. I feel like they took part of my family away from us and my girls miss her everyday because of there stupidity

I am so sorry for your loss. Truthfully, I think that all of the owners who have lost there pets due to contaminated food should sue the company. Also, these pet food companies have some nerve charging more money for brands like Science Diet and Iams but recipe is still the same for cheaper brands.

Not to sound insensitive- I did not lose an animal to this crisis, but I would say for the future: feed your animals something good not just something cheap. If you are still nervous- feed cats nothing but fat scraps and other parts from animals from your meat counter or deli, like livers or hearts. They get fat from pet foods if they don't have enough exersize. Use dry food if you don't have the patience for this because the wet food uses bi-products and are more likely to get contaminated during processing! Sorry about kitty-get the kids another pet because they will heal through the love of another.

I am very sorry for your loss.. Honestly I feel really lucky feeding my kitties the food that they only sell at the Vet. You should deffinetly sue, the loss of a pet over their irrisponsible distribution of food, is not your fault it's the COMPANY THAT SELLS IT.
