There is no substitute, the only thing would be egg beaters.
Applesauce, by the way, if a sub. for fat in the recipes, not eggs.
Put simply you cannot make them correctly without eggs or eggs substitute.
If you can live 2 more weeks without eggs due to religious reasons, I think you can survive without the cookies too,
By the way, you can give yogurt girl best answer all you want....yogurt will NOT work. She's just guessing. Duh.

Sounds like you are SOL :) sorry! Eggs are needed to "glue" everything together. And no shortening? You could use, butter, margarine or vegetable oil in place of that. But if you use oil or if you melt the butter be sure to add 1/4 cup-3/4 cup extra flour (plus, extra flour makes the cookies super soft!) Bananas aren't going to do you any good in place of eggs, even banana bread needs eggs. You just can't skimp on the eggs. So buck up and go to the store, refrigerate your mixture if you've already started, just be sure to slightly beat the eggs before adding them, then mix very well.
Good Luck!

Keep this list handy it is a selection of vegan substitutes for eggs:
2 oz of soft tofu can be blended with some water and substituted for an egg to add consistency. Or try the same quantity of: mashed beans, mashed potatoes, or nut butters.
1/2 mashed banana
1/4 cup applesauce or pureed fruit
One tablespoon flax seeds (found in natural food stores) with 3 tablespoon water can be blended for 2 to 3 minutes, or boiled for 10 minutes or until desired consistency is achieved to substitute for one egg.
1 teaspoon soy flour plus 1 tablespoon water to substitute for one egg.
Know you already chose a fave but thought this might come in handy later.
Good Luck!

You kind of need eggs. Pretend it's the 1950s and run next door and ask for 2 eggs. I'm sure someone will have some, and will not mind. People are nice.

You are going to have to make time to go to the store because I cannot think of any cookies without eggs.

Sorry but eggs are the protein that makes cookies cookies. I'd look for something that doesn't need eggs.
