It takes 3,500 calories to burn 1 lb of fat. So if you just cut out the cola, then you might lose 1lb of fat in three weeks. You need to do a lot more than just stop drinking cola. Try only drinking water or flavored water with no sugar. Eat lots of fiber containing foods like fruits and vegetables, eat lots of lean proteins like turkey and fish and cut down on carbs. Especially white bread. It's processed and it turns into a thick white paste in our digestive systems and slows everything down. Avoid alcohol if you drink, get good rest and above all, EXERCISE!

Cola is the devil's drink, have it for special occasions, not for hydration. Drink 2L of water per day, if you want flavour get some good quality tea(it won't be bitter).
Eat whole grains, whole wheat pasta and bread, try sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes, eat brown rice instead of white. Make sure to get plenty of fruits and veggies.
Eat 5-6 times a day, that's breakfast, lunch, dinner and a couple of snacks. This keeps your body burning hot, instead of hot then cold then hot then cold, your metabolism has to keep working, and it needs food, if it doesn't get enough fuel it goes into starve mode and stores everything you eat.
Next, for exercise, anything you love that gets your heart pumping, start with walks and work up. You can also do weightlifting, which you can even do at home, just look online for exercises. The more muscle you have the better your metabolism works. Though keep in mind that if you lose fat and gain muscle you won't lose as much scale weight, but the fat loss will still be there. Oh and take protein shakes after workouts(these are also good with snacks, keeps you filled up).
If you crave chocolate, have dark chocolate, it's good for you. Have it after a workout too, that's best. Maybe give yourself a cheat day if you like for sweets, then try to stay away from them the rest of the week.
Keep a journal of your foods and exercise and your weight. This will keep you honest and let you know specifically how you're doing. Then if you plateau you can see why, and change it accordingly.
These are the healthiest tips for losing weight. It's more about substituting bad habits with good ones, instead of specific diets. Healthy eating doesn't have to be bland, and exercise doesn't have to be boring.
This is how you can achieve and maintain a healthy weight, it's not a crash diet. Crash diets will only cause you to get fat again later.
Best wishes for your goals.

If you just stopped drinking cola I don't kno whow much you would lose but it would help you out alot because you're eliminating a simple carb (the sugar) from your diet and that is always a good thing.
Drink more water to help your system cleanse itself more help clean out toxins. I think a way to know if you are getting enough water is if your urine is a pale yellow to clear.
You just need to eat a healthy balanced diet with the right amounts of fats, fruits, grains, vegatables, poultry etc. I think if you could afford to go see a nutritionist to help you custom make a meal plan for your body. While just plain eating healthy food works for any diet some foods might be more beneficial to your body type than others. For instance if you have a slow metabolism you might want to stay away from lots of sugar which can turn into fat if not used.
You just need to do cardio and weight training. Me personally I don't like going to the gym, nothing wrong I just don't like going. So I use the firm work out (which incorporates cardio and weight training), taebo, and for fun some dance routines which is a work out that you dont' really think about or see as a chore. Just find someting you like to do. Go for a BRISK walk with the dog or the kids.
I think it would also help you to go a support group and find someone with the same body type as you and the same goals losing about 40-50lbs. It would probably be best to find soemone in your area so you could give eachother a real shoulder to cry on or ask advice for.
Good luck to you.

sure you are going to lose weight if your eliminate soda completely ... what you have to do is, also eliminate fatty foods, look at the label and see how many calories the product you will eat contains and depending on what calorie intake you require keep it within that range. Eat whole grains, kashi cereal is very good, try eating it with soymilk , also alot of raw fruits and vegetables are GREAT. You dont have to torture yourself and not anything of what you want , you can do that but in moderation, and if you feel the need for more then maybe you should stay away from the food.Drink ALOT of water because that way you wont feel as hungry between meals and after. If you stick to that and working out then you can definatley acheive your goal, buuuut STICK to it :)

You can't drink any soda...Sugar has a lot to do with your weight...
All you need to do is eat about 2000 calories a day, eat zero amount of sugar..use Splenda...and walk a lot and use light weights...
The best way to lose weight is exercise and a clean diet..
You need pills or need a south beach diet or any thing like that, No fast food, no high calories...and a lot of walking or jogging..
Good luck, but wait you don't need good luck, you need to want to lose the weight..I'll bet you do fine by august and you'll look awesome.

First off I would definitely give up the cola. Replace it with lots and lots of water. Drinking a lot of water will help you lose weight. Eat foods that are low-fat and high fiber. Whole grains, fruits, veggies, etc. Eat lean meats such as chicken and fish. Exercise more. Even if that means going for a walk around the block. Sometimes keeping a daily diary will help you to see how much you eat each day.
Good luck to you.

Read the book "SugarBusters" and follow that eating plan and you can lose all the weight you want. It's a moderate diet of whole grain foods. You won't be hungry and you will learn how your body converts certain foods to fat. Definitely stop any soda consumption, no fast food, and learn what a "portion" actually is. Walking 30 min. 3 X a week is a good start. Godloveya.

Don't know about the exercise part of your question, but to lose weight, eat something - nutritious, not junk - every 3 to 4 hours; it's called 'grazing'..this way you are not feeling deprived...watch your portion sizes!! eat off a salad plate, put your dinner plate away....yes, you could probably go back for seconds, but after a while, you will get used to portions on the smaller plate..drink lots of water...eat MORE fruits and vegetables, fresh is best, next best is frozen, then canned, but eat'em!! cut back some on white flour/carbs, but DO NOT eliminate them; same with fats; your body needs SOME fats,,just not french fries, pastries, etc.....and the best of all (this I've been doing now for about 6 months) It's called the 'every other day' diet...one day, watch portions, eat NO SWEETS at all, etc..then the next day, allow yourself a SMALL portion of dessert, candy, etc...your favorite, of course, (dont' eat stuff that's sweet you dont really enjoy) you can even cheat a little on your portion sizes, but not by much!!!..look at it this way; 'you can do anything for one day'..on the days you are careful, you have the next day to look forward to..now I dont mean you can STUFF yourself one day and STARVE yourself the next..NOT AT ALL..just be reasonable with your portions, but on the 'eat' day you can up it a little...if youd rather not, just have your dessert/sweets on that day............I do it and I love it!! and yes, NO colas, one has equivalent of 10-13 teaspoons of sugar!! drink water and coffee/tea, very little sweetner (Splenda is good)...even fruit juices are loaded with calories..instead, concentrate on water and portions and having goodies every other day..email me if you have any questions..have fun & good luck!!

i am a big fan of green tea and i let everyone know it.
our minds are accustomed to thinking in terms of what we eat more than what we drink.
don't be caught up in that.
buy green tea and drink it hot or cold, it comes in many flavors. it does amazing things for many parts of your body and will absolutely help you with weight.
take a long walk every day, slap on the iPod shuffle (i love it and music is such a great motivator)
as far as food, though, everything in moderation is the golden rule.
good luck.
