I swore in at MEPS and signed my contract. My date for basic training is June 26.A week after I swore in at MEPS, my recruiter called me and said that MEPS after they ran by background ck, found a warrant 4 my arrest for not completing my 24 community serv. from a 1998 misdemeanor charge for thefy under $300.My recruiter and I called all the police stations, court houses, district attny's and clerk of courts and they all say they have no record of me having any warrants, so my recruiter got a report stating that i have no record, and made me fill out a hand written statement describing what happened that night, and why i did not report it to MEPS, so they can try to get a waiver from his CO or Chief, so I can still leave for basic, but it has been 2 weeks, and my recruiter syays he has not heard anything yet from the CO. Is this normal, for it to take this long? And what will be the outcome?

You are an idiot. Same question asked everytime you are on here. The Navy doesn't want you. The Army doesn't want you. No one wants you. Stop with your dumbass question already.........

Seem like we have answered this question several times already. The CO can take as long as he wants and if they aren't really interested they tend to take more time. They may be waiting until the last day of the month to see if they are going to meet their recruiting goals without you. If they can, don't count on getting into the Navy. There are other applicants that told the truth about their backgrounds when theyr were told to do so and didn't "forget" about their criminal background. You may want to go apply at Burger King or someplace for a job that doesn't require background checks.

dude why do you persist in askingthe same darn quesytion over and over again here instead of sating in touch with your recruiter? Bottom line..It will take as long as it takes, and the waiver does NOT have to be granted.

Depends....if there is a warrant at MEPS then you somehow have to get that cleared...or everytime they run it is going to show. Did MEPS state where that information was coming from?

Have fun in Great Mistakes...that's where I went to boot...it was cake...I wouldn't have gone in the summer...hot and humid there...but whatever....
