It sounds like you have pulled a muscle as a result of coughing lots.
Take something for your cough and the pain should go away after a few days. If it does not then arrange an appointment with your GP.
If it is a sharp or stabbing type pain and/or you are a long term smoker it would be best to consult your doctor sooner.
If you have a temperature or are coughing up a lot of phlegm then it could be a chest infection in which case it would be a good idea to consult you GP as soon as you can.
As the pain is to the side of your chest we can rule out acid reflux.

Hi - it could be linked to the chesty cough, like a pulled muscle or something. however, Id suggest that anything like chest pains should be addressed at A&E as soon as poss (or a GP) as it could be something more serious. Bxx

You could have pulled something if you've been coughing a lot? Muscles and joints ache after continuess coughing. Get checked out by a nurse/doctor at your surgery just to be sure. Take care. xx

It could be infection/pleurisy, it could be pnemothorax/collapsed lung, it could be simple due to the mechanical effect of coughing. If your age is >50years and you smoke it could have a sinister cause. I suggest you don't waste ant further time on 'Answers' but go see your GP tomorrow who will examine you, and may well want a chest X-ray.

sounds like you may have strained your muscles between your ribs when coughing. Has your GP ruled out chest infection???? You can get pain with chest infection too. If you are coughing up thick green phlegm then you may need antibiotics.

Chest pain is not something that can be diagnosed over the internet. If it bothers you then see the doc to find out what it isn.

either acid reflux or maybe SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome), which usualy comes with a slight 100.1-6 fever, and dry cough, shortness of breath and trouble breathing fully. good luck!

Sounds as though you have a chest infection possibly, you should visit your GP who can listen to your chest and give you antibiotics.
