Remember, the ceiling is the fifth wall in a room. Every room in my house has the ceiling the same color as the wall. If you paint the ceiling white, it is going to stand out, especially with your wall colors. With the same color as the walls, the ceiling will disappear and the carpet will me the main contrast in the room. Also by painting the ceiling the same color as the wall, it makes painting the room easier since you don't have to worry about making a clean line where the ceiling meets the wall.

No way..leave the celing white!! I'm a union painter..Trust me!! don't paint the ceiling grey. You want to have a nice contrast. If you want an accent wall..go two shades darker than the color u put on the other 3 walls. Did this help...if not..e-mail me...dapainterdude@hotmail.com

If the carpet is a brownish neutral then the gray will not match. I would just leave the ceiling white.

I definitely would keep everything white. If you are moving, who knows if the new people will like grey or purple? White goes with everything, and this also gives them a chance to choose their own colors that match what they have. Grey and purple is kind of a depressing combination for bedroom walls, in my opinion. Hope this helps and warm regards.

I would go for a white ceiling, I did, and I like it.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I think ceilings should be white.

it depends on how you light the room, gray will keep it dark and subdued, white will allow it to reflect better and brighten up the room.

which is probably a good idea if you have very dark walls.
