It all depends on what you mean by "not too expensive." The D50 uses CF cards. If you go to eBay, I see many people selling the D50 new with a lens for $500 and less. Many have the body alone for $300-400.
Maybe a used D70s would be reasonable.
If you want to go over to the dark side, the Canon Rebel XT and XTi both use CF cards, but your price is getting into the "too expensive" range. You may be able to find a nice used XT, though. (I'm just teasing Koko about the dark side, too. Canon is fine.)
Otherwise, you can go to http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare.asp and look near the bottom of the chart where you will see "Storage Types." Choose Compact Flash and see if you like any of the results. They are only showing older Canon P&S cameras, though, because the display is limited to 10 camera and "Canon" comes first in the alphabet...

Your best bet is to get an older-style used camera. Most cameras today that take CF are the Digital SLRs. These are what most professionals use, and if you ever have the opportunity to use one, you'll quickly find out why. However, the DSLRs are expensive, ranging at around $700-$1500. Compact Flash cards are a bit of a contradiction in words, as they are, at the moment, the least compact form of flash memory.
Your best bet would probably be to ask the person from whom you received the card for a store receipt so you can return the card. Get a decent camera that takes SD. SD is smaller, and usually the cheaper option.

Not to any extent further. SD is the brand new king of digital camera garage. But as the opposite poster mentioned, they're low-cost nowadays. Watch for a sale, and you'll get four gigs for approximately $10-$12. Even at $15, they're just about part the rate of a CF card.

It all depends on how much you want to spend. Canon makes some realy great cameras. I use to 30D, which is about $1200 and has interchangeable lenses. My husband uses the Canon Powershot A550 (about $200)- great camera which also has digital video capabilities. And for $100 extra, you can buy some lens attachments to make them wide angle or zoom.
