She should smarten up cause the minute you start caring what other people think , well you are gonna lead a very sad life. She could be with you now and be happy. No matter who you choose to go out with, there will be people that won't like it. She seems like she has a problem with what other people think and know matter what color she is, that's life for ya. You can't please them all and who really cares as long as you are happy. Hopefully she sees beyond what others think and her insecurities. Life's too short!

Then you shouldn't want to persue any relationship with her then. I'm black myself and race is not a factor. Who cares what people would think? It's called SEGREGATION! Been that way for a while now. Or does she not know that? It's not like you'll go to jail or anything. We live in a very diverse yet still racially centered world. You deserve a girl who will be proud of being seen with you.

i guess it would be kind of nerve wreaking at first but maybe when you two start dating theres not too much people can say. if you two like each other go for it. i was kind of scared to talk to this boy in high school b/c he was white, and the black guys use to say " i know you don't like that white boy!" so i decided not to talk to him even though i liked him. so it was lost b/c i didn't want to hear what people said. so i hope she does what she wants and not think about others b/c other people are going to talk reguardless, and maybe those guys said those things b/c i wasn't talking to them. good luck.

Cody, race makes no difference, just meet some place where no one knows either one of you, maybe a different city 50 miles away and see how you get along first.then if you and her are comfortable together, then let it all hang out.. tell people take care of their own problems..

bottom line, if she's so concerned about what other people think that she will deny herself hapiness then for your sake i'd leave it be. i mean if you date this girl you will end up being pressed into the same attitude and will ultimatley be forced to sacrifice your hapiness for her comfort. if you can handle that then ok.

there is always the chance of changing her but people are hard to change so unless your willing to work real hard for this girl i'd just let it go.
