We all fail in our jobs from time to time. Evangelists are humans just like the rest of us. The ones that condemn others and then go on to do the things they preach against are just hypocrites, and the world is populated with those.

Not all evangelists are hypocrites and crooks, but a lot are. Some are quite sincere. They are the ones who actually get down in the streets and try to save people from drug and alcohol abuse, to feed and clothe and comfort and house the poor--as Jesus counseled. They are the ones you never see on TV, or preaching in mega-churches. Or driving expensive cars. The fakes are the visible ones you see on TV endlessly soliciting love offerings from the aptly named "flock".

Because human beings are imperfect, selfish creatures by nature. No one is perfect. Being an Evangelist does not mean you suddenly become perfect.

Because when it comes right down to it, they are human. Also, some believe themselves above the rest, thus the rules they preach don't apply. Others are just con men to begin with and don't care.

Read the warnings "false prophets and false teachers" the bible is full of these warnings, but don't make the mistake of judging God by these people that say they represent Him.

Knocking someone else's mistake will not help or hinder you. You are responsible for your own salvation. When you stand before God and plead your case, you won't be able to blame anyone for not believing. Study to show thyself approved.
