I went from 165lbs to 145lbs after meeting a guy and we stopped going out to bars and eating out so much. I've kept that weight off give or take 5lbs ever since.
Before an upcoming vacation I stopped drinking alcohol for 2 mos, ate very healthy during the week(salads, chicken, whole grains only, non fat dairy) and allowed for some cheating on the weekends, walked/jogged, lifted weights, ab crunches and planks, lunges and dropped another 10 lbs . This is what I am doing now but I've added yoga.
HAPPY DIETING!

I lost 30lbs. It took forever to take off but was worth it. I started to walk in a fast pace and then jog. I really didn't diet but I would not stop jogging. I would jog at least 4xs a week. I first started with 2 miles and I slowly increased to 4 miles. I noticed that I would drink a lot more water and so I think that that helped a lot. But I'm pregnant now so I'll have to start all over again! Oh well. Good luck on your diet.

I lost about 30 lbs in 6 months. I did a ton of aerobic exercise (ie walking EVERYWHERE) and ate just enough to feel full, and not over-indulge. I also did not eat any quick snack foods (ie chips, crackers, soda, etc.).
It's easier to do this when you live outside the US.

Two hundred pounds in one day. Yes that is what I said, two hundred and probably a little more in one day.
I Knew my wife was very unhappy with me at that time so I took advantage of it and made her even more angry and she was gone by the time I came home from work and left me a note. The next morning I filed for divorse and got rid of that fat woman.
Never regretted it and never married again and will not.
