I am considering getting a male papillon and I want to know if papillons make good walking dogs. I have a japanese chin and she does not like to walk, plus with her short nose, when it gets really warm outside it makes it harder for her to breath and I don't like her to get too hot or too cold. I just want to know if they make good pets too. I have heard great things about them, but want to know positives and negatives. Also, how big do they usually get?

Papillons are brilliant as a pet! Loving and active! Very beautiful and very smart creatures.

Papillons usually grow till bout 27cm, of course with some exceptions but they are tiny babies.. They love to bite wires when they are young but the habit will die off with supervision.

Although small, they are good watchdogs! Im sure they will be the most beautiful dog to get, and they will always be happy to go for a walk with you!

They are actually quite small, weighing about a maximum of 4 to 5 kg. they can go for normal walkies, walks in the park for like up to a maximum of 1 hour with rests inbetween, slow walks as well. not sporty pets i must say but they can be active while playing at home. they make great pets due to their mild temperament.
